WATERTOWN — A Watertown man was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to six months in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building jail and five years’ probation for trying to sell cocaine.
Cleo E. Vaughns IV, 19, was sentenced after pleading guilty May 15 to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. He had been charged in a grand jury indictment handed up in March with selling the drug Nov. 8 in Watertown.

Kristian A. Baxter, 21, town of Brownville, was sentenced to a year in the PSB after pleading guilty March 4 to fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana. He admitted that he sold the drug Dec. 12, 2012, in the town of LeRay.
Jacquelyn B. Smith, 33, Harrisville, was sentenced to an unspecified amount of time served at the PSB and five years’ probation after pleading guilty March 24 to second-degree attempted assault. She admitted that she hit John A. Ives Jr., Watertown, on the head with a liquor bottle in September. Her probation supervision will be transferred to Lewis County.
John Lichty, 49, whose last known address was 847 LeRay St., Apt. 404, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass. He had been charged in April with entering Guilfoyle Emergency Medical Services, 438 Newell St., while the building was locked and protected by alarm.
He did not have permission to be inside the building. Police said at the time of his arrest that a T-shirt was stolen. He is expected to be sentenced July 28 to six months in the PSB and five years’ probation.
John P. Arca, 42, Black River, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated. He admitted that he drove while intoxicated Oct. 12 in Watertown.
He subsequently was sentenced to a year in the PSB, fined $1,500, had his driver’s license revoked and was ordered to install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates.
Jill V. Wimmer, 45, of 13919 House Road, Clayton, pleaded guilty to felony aggravated DWI and driving over a divided space.
She admitted that she was intoxicated when she drove her vehicle off Interstate 81 in the town of Adams on March 17.
She is due to be sentenced Aug. 12.
