MADRID - Displays, a tractor pull, races and much more will be featured at this year’s annual Antique Gas & Steam Engine Exhibition Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Power & Equipment Museum, Route 345.
Both days will offer displays of antique gas and steam engines, antique tractors, cars and trucks, wagon rides farm animals, saw milling and plowing demonstrations.
In addition, there will be crafts and attic treasure sales, early textile demonstrations, along with museum displays in the collection building, shoe repair shop, farmhouse, granary, maple producers’ sugar house, schoolhouse, 1920’s gas station and more.
Saturday special events include a miniature horse pull at 10 a.m., draft horse pull at noon, kids’ pedal tractor races at 1 p.m., old iron auction at 2 p.m., spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 p.m. and music by Pure Country from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Sunday will feature an antique tractor pull beginning at 10 a.m. along with pony rides provided by Honey Dew Acres from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., kids pedal tractor pull at 1 p.m., barbecue chicken dinner beginning at noon and much more. Admission is $5 for 12 and older. Children under 12 are free. Vendors, (no food), crafters and exhibitors are welcome. Must be museum members and have a sales tax certificate.
