WATSON — Tyler Thomas, 24, Lowville, and Robert Forsythe, 30, no address provided, were charged by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property Friday following an investigation into the theft of three catalytic converters and more than $1,000 worth of Snap-on tool from Kafline’s Auto Salvage, Lowville. Mr. Forsythe also was charged with third-degree criminal mischief.
Deputies said they located and recovered the catalytic converters from Empire Salvage in Watertown, where Mr. Thomas and Mr. Forsythe allegedly sold them for scrap. The tools also were recovered, according to deputies.
Both Mr. Thomas and Mr. Forsythe were arraigned in Lowville Village Court. Mr. Thomas was sent to Lewis County jail on $2,500 bail, Mr. Forsythe on $3,000 bail.
