POTSDAM - Clarkson University’s hometown radio station, B99.3 FM WSNN and 1470 AM WPDM, will broadcast live Clarkson Golden Knights Hockey this season, beginning with the October 3 women’s game at St. Lawrence University.

Clarkson hockey fans in Potsdam, Norwood, Canton, Ogdensburg, Massena and many other parts of St. Lawrence County will be able to enjoy radio coverage of all Golden Knights men’s home and away games and a number of select women’s games, as well.

“Through our partnership with B99.3/WPDM in Potsdam, season ticket holders from our home base in the heart of St. Lawrence County will be able to follow both home and away action through B99.3/WPDM,” said Athletics Director Steve Yianoukos. “Through our partnership with B99.3/WPDM, the broadcasts will also be available over the Internet to Clarkson fans around the world.”

“B99.3 the ‘80s hit music channel and CBS Sports Radio 1470 WPDM are proud to be part of the Clarkson University hockey program, expanding our local sports coverage and service to the community. We look forward to a long relationship,” said General Manager John Winter.

“We’re very happy to have Clarkson hockey on the air waves. We’re excited and looking forward to covering the men’s season and the defending national champion women’s season,” said Chris Engel, B99.3 and CBS Sports Radio 1470 WPDM sports director. Long-time Clarkson Hockey radio play-by-play announcer Bob Ahlfeld will continue to call the Golden Knights men’s game and a majority of the women’s contests.

Clarkson University’s Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams are widely regarded as premier programs in NCAA Division I. The Golden Knights women reached the pinnacle of success in 2013-14, claiming the University’s first-ever NCAA National Championship title in any sport this past March to cap off a 31-win campaign. The Clarkson men skated to their best season in six years with 21 victories this past winter to post the program’s 70th winning season.
