Norfolk man accused of stashing crack-cocaine in his underwear


DEKALB — State police on Thursday charged Seth M. Hamm, 28, of Norfolk, with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers allege that at 11:55 a.m. on Route 11 in the town of DeKalb Mr. Hamm was stopped at a stationary road check by state police and United States Border Patrol and was found to be in possession of more than 2 ounces of crack-cocaine stashed in his underpants. Mr. Hamm’s father, Ben L. Hamm, 59, Norfolk, also was in the vehicle at the time of the stop and was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said; he was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Ben Hamm was issued an appearance ticket to Town Court.

Seth Hamm was arraigned in Fowler Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, where he is being held on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
