Nig’s Tavern wins Men’s Slow Pitch pair

Nig’s Tavern recorded a pair of wins in Men’s and Women’s Ogdensburg Softball Association action in the men’s division on Tuesday.

The league wishes to remind teams that games will be held this Friday.

Nig’s Tavern 16, Murray’s 1: Bill Durham belted a homerun, a triple, and a double and Shawn Knapp and Justin Martel each smacked a triple and a single and Joe Brenno lined a double and two singles to lead Nig’s Tavern who scored seven runs in the first inning. Dean Washburn added three singles.

Four players reached on a single for Murray’s including Cody O’Marah, Dustin Harper, Jr. LaMay, and Ian Lalonde.

Nig’s Tavern 12, Buster’s 8: Justin Martel belted a homerun and a triple, Joe Brenno connected for two doubles, Zach Sharpe and Ryan Joanette each lined three singles and Ken Stull added a double and a single for Nig’s Tavern who also received two hits from Voorhees Bushey.

Anthony Pirie and Jamie Wallace each stroked a double and two singles for Busters while JP Burns and Paul LaPlante each singled three times.

Hosmer’s 16, Ogdensburg Bowl 9: Josh Barkley smacked a homerun and two singles and Drew Thornhill stroked two doubles and a triple to lead Hosmer’s. Ray Piller and John Stevenson each singled twice while Rob Powers added three singles.

Andrew LeBeau belted a homerun for Ogdensburg Bowl. Mike Ashley lined three singles.

Club 1812 15, Ogdensburg Bowl II 8: Andrew Ladouceur smacked a homerun and two doubles, Andrew Dedecker connected for two doubles and a single, Dennis Lewis lined a double and three singles and Nate Beaulieu and Chris Havens each connected for three singles leading Club 1812. Chris Frary had a triple and a double, Jesse Joanette connected for a double and a single and Al Vernsey, Aaron Smith and Justin Hollis each singled twice for Ogdensburg Bowl II.

Thursday: Monnet Park – 6 p.m. Ogdensburg Bowl at Busters, 7:15 p.m. Buster’s at Ogdensburg Bowl; Bridge and Port – 6 p.m. Nig’s Tavern at Hosmer’s, 7:15 p.m. Hosmer’s at Ogdensburg Bowl II.

Friday: Monnet Park – 6 p.m. Murray’s at Ogdensburg Bowl, 7:15 p.m. - Nig’s Tavern at Ogdensburg Bowl II, Bridge and Port – 6 p.m. Club 1812 vs. Hosmer’s. 7:15 p.m. Buster’s at Hosmer’s.
