POTSDAM — One year after being hired as a part-time village code compliance technician, Gregory Thompson is now the code enforcement officer in Potsdam.
Mr. Thompson, 175 Rowen Road, Lisbon, was permanently appointed by the village Board of Trustees on Monday.
The previous officer, Larry J. Colbert, resigned in September.
“It’s nice to see the efficiency that our code enforcement office has at the moment. You seem to have the personality and you’re up for the task. It’s nice to see that when I discuss jobs that you go on with other people, they have good things to say about that office, which has been a long time coming,” Trustee Stephen J. Warr said.
“Greg, you’ve been doing a terrific job for the village,” Mayor Steven W. Yurgartis said.
