BRASHER FALLS - A quote attributed to St. Lawrence Central School Board member Arthur Siebert in Thursday’s Daily Courier-Observer incorrectly identified the target of his comment. He was responding to comments made by St. Lawrence Central United Teachers President Christine Compo-Martin about a survey of teachers showing low morale in the district.

“I had hoped your predecessor would be here tonight because when I saw that survey I saw that as a reflection of his inability to lead and his inability to fairly represent his constituents,” Mr. Siebert said.

“He seems like a decent person, but I just don’t feel like any time you approachd any sort of problem with an adversarial position no good is going to come out of it. This isn’t the union against the board. This isn’t the teachers against the board. Calling names and pointing fingers, to me, I have better ways to spend my time,” he said.

The previous union president was Thomas Morrison.
