WATERTOWN — A man escaped from his truck with only minor injuries after a rollover crash Saturday evening on Route 12 in the town of Pamelia.
Trooper Kevin M. Rose, who helped investigate at the scene, said Montana D. Zehr, Montana Drive, Carthage, was traveling north at about 5 p.m. when he went off the right side of the roadway between Mustard Road and Dump Road. After he hit a rise in the grass, his truck went airborne, landed nose first on the ground, creating a visible crater, then flipped forward and came to rest on its top, police said. He was taken by Evans Mills Ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center for general pain and head lacerations.
A trooper on the scene said Mr. Zehr was talking, and told them he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
The truck sustained extensive damage, primarily from its landing.
Trooper Rose said no decisions have been made about any tickets for Mr. Zehr.
