WATERTOWN — Two men from New York City face charges following a raid Monday morning at a room in the Hilton Garden Inn, 1290 Arsenal St., that yielded 177 bags of heroin and related packaging material, $4,799 in cash, several cellphones and a laptop computer, police said.
Shon T. Dutton, 20, Queens, and Milton M. Cuero, 21, Bronx, were arrested on one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following the raid, led by the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force and the state police C-Net unit. The defendants were arraigned in City Court and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with bail set at $30,000 each.
Police said they executed a search warrant at 11:45 a.m., forcing entry into Room 208. The heroin seized at the room, which the two men were renting, had a street value of about $4,425, according to police. Police said that information reported to the task force played an instrumental role in the investigation.
Police were assisted during the raid by city police.
