WATERTOWN — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies charged Maurice E. Stallings Jr., 25, of 224 Palmer St., Apt. 505, with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly fled a crash scene.

Deputies investigating a crash said they found Mr. Stallings in the parking lot of the Texas Roadhouse, Route 3. He told deputies he had been drinking earlier at Westcott Beach State Park.

His blood alcohol content was listed at 0.17 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication.

Charged at 7:27 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant’s parking lot, he was later released to Fort Drum military police custody with an appearance ticket for Town Court.
