Is land dispute on Plumbrook escalating?

State Police have informed this writer they do not want a land dispute on the Plumbrook Road to escalate.

One neighbor has landlocked another neighbor by erecting barricades, (steel cables) and posted signs preventing them from accessing their home and property.

In my memory, the driveway has been used by residents of the home for 64 years. But a new owner next door says no more.

The now-landlocked resident recently visited her home accompanied by three other vehicles.

Shortly afterward, a State Police vehicle showed up and began what appeared to be negotiations between the two residents. He spent more than an hour walking back and forth, apparently delivering argument points of each resident.

After the landlocked resident and three other vehicles left, the new neighbor erected steel cables fastened to posts with ribbons attached.

Let’s hope that as the State Police officer indicated to me, the situation does not escalate.
