Students at Madrid-Waddington Central School found a new use for duct tape when they got to tape their principal to the wall this month.
The event was part of the Accelerated Readers Program, a new literacy initiative developed by the school.
For each book read, students in grades first through fifth were given a few yards in duct tape. The students read enough books to collect over 500 yards of duct tape which then was used to tape their principal, Matthew Daley, to the gym wall.
The duct tape was donated to the school by Waddington True Value Hardware.
