Mark and Dianne Webster recently gave a generous donation to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center’s expansion project.
This donation has allowed the room housing the new multifunctional Varian Trilogy Linear Accelerator to be dedicated in honor of Mrs. Webster’s sister, Karen Heider Ruda. Mrs. Ruda passed away last year shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
The Websters were presented with a representation of the plaque dedicating the new LINAC room at the open house celebrating the cancer center’s new wing and the 20th anniversary of the cancer center.
The new accelerator will provide more precise radiation treatments to cancerous tumors, alleviating the need for patients to travel outside the north country for care.
