Macomb - Marylou D. Tyler, age 80, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 in Lima, Ohio.
Calling hours are private with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 12th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the family home in Macomb at 271 Hall Road.
Marylou was born in Gouverneur on May 13, 1934, the daughter of Harry and Gladys Hall Sharpe.
At a young age, Marylou and her family moved out to the family farm on the Hall Road in Macomb which her grandparents established in the mid 1800’s.
Marylou married John “Jack” Tyler on September 28, 1957 at the Brasie Corners Methodist Church.
The couple stayed on the farm and took care of Marylou’s ill mother who passed away in 1965. Besides helping on the farm, Marylou then went on to driving school bus for Leon LaForty and milk truck for Robert Ellison at Mercer’s Jersey Farm. She drove bus for Gouverneur Central School from 1978 to 1997 when she retired.
She enjoyed her plastic canvas needle work, gardening, and wood working.
Marylou is survived by her husband Jack, her two children Deborah and Don Boston of Rentz, GA, Christopher and Charina Tyler of Gouverneur, three grandchildren Daniel and Jennifer Boston of Rentz, GA, Chad and Maisie Tyler of Ohio, C.J. Tyler of Ohio, and her great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Paul and Mary Sharpe of Florida and a sister Lucille Rogers of Florida, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.
