The Northern Lights Orchestra will present “A Night on the River” at Waddington’s Island View Park at 7 p.m. Friday.

Admission is free. In the case of inclement weather, the performance will be held in the Old Town Hall.

The concert will feature music inspired by river and other water-related themes, including classics such as the Blue Danube and Handel’s Water Music, traditional tunes such as Moon River and modern favorites such as music from Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Lady in the Water.

The Northern Lights Orchestra is dedicated to bringing fine orchestral music to communities throughout the north country. The orchestra’s repertoire ranges from classical music favorites to less common popular programs featuring Celtic Music, movie and TV themes and traditional folk tunes. The programs reflect the orchestra’s mission of featuring music of broad appeal, music with north country connection and music that will interest seasoned concertgoers and newcomers alike.

The concert is made possible in part with funds from the Decentralization program, a re-grant program of New York State Council on the arts with support of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.

The concert is sponsored by the Iroquois Gas and North Country Savings Bank.
