Massena Chamber helps Courier-Observer celebrate 25th anniversary

MASSENA - The Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce helped the Daily Courier-Observer celebrate its 25th anniversary during a Business Before Hours event Friday morning at the Johnson Newspaper Center in Massena.

“I cannot tell you how thrilled we are to be here. It’s a big occasion for them as they celebrate their 25th anniversary,” chamber Director Kathleen Kelly-Ori said.

Johnson Newspapers Corp. CEO John B. Johnson credited retired publisher Charles W. Kelly for the newspaper’s success over the last 25 years.

“We have a lot of our success in Massena and Northern New York thanks to all the hard work Chuck put in,” Mr. Johnson said.

Ms. Kelly-Ori said the Business Before Hours events give chamber members an opportunity to see what takes place behind-the-scenes at other chamber member businesses. Friday’s was the second Business Before Hours coordinated by the chamber, with the next scheduled for September at Kaneb Orchards.
