CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - POTSDAM - Village police charged Jeffrey W. Clark, 17, of Colton with a felony count of first-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree stalking at 9:18 p.m. Friday on Main Street. He was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with no bail set.

Police said the charges stemmed from an investigation into an allegation Clark had violated a no contact order of protection.

Clark had been charged in December with felony first-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor second-degree unlawful imprisonment in connection with an alleged incident involving a 14-year-old girl.

Potsdam Central School Superintendent Patrick H. Brady said at the time Clark, who is a resident of the Colton-Pierrepont School District, was enrolled as a full-time student in the St. Lawrence-Lewis Board of Cooperative Educational Services program at Potsdam Central School.
