CANTON - Led by a trio of names that will be highlighting some of the Section 10 soccer play this upcoming fall along with a stingy defense, the FC Freeze U16 boys soccer team took control of U16 NNYYSL standings with a 4-0 win over previously unbeaten Upstate United Fusion (4-1-2).
Lisbon’s Adam Kelley, Parishville-Hopkington’s Wyatt Snell and Ogdensburg’s Peyton Lalone controlled the play much of the contest which saw the locals score two goals in each half and avenge their only loss of the season. Snell recorded one goal and one assist while Kelley and Lalone each found the back of the net with sniper shots with Ogdensburg’s Noah Moore delivering from a rebound opportunity from an Madrid-Waddington’s Tyler Robinson shot.
Lisbon’s Nick Spooner recorded the shutout with seven saves including one nice diving stop from point blank range while Lisbon’s Riley Alberto, Ogdensburg’s Matt Ramm and Potsdam’s Daniel Caamano turning in strong play on the defensive line.
Now 8-1, the FC Freeze are slated to close out their season next Monday on the road against the Upstate United Cozmos at the YMCA Fairgrounds Field in Watertown starting at 6:30 p.m.
