Watertown woman remains in critical condition after car crash

WATERTOWN – A 25-year-old Watertown woman remains in critical condition today at a Syracuse hospital after crashing her car into a tree Monday morning on Route 11 in the town.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said Jaclyn Papalski was traveling north on Route 11 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree about 8:50 a.m. near Cagwin Road.

She was flown to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, by a LifeNet helicopter Monday morning. Her passengers — two children ages 2 and 3 — were taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where they were treated and released.

No further information was immediately available.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by state police, Town of Watertown Fire Department, Town of Watertown Ambulance and Guilfoyle Ambulance Service.
