Riverview-Dar’s maintains Town and Tavern Modified Softball lead

BRASHER FALLS - Riverview-Dar’s improved to 18-1 atop the Town and Tavern Modified Softball League standings with an 18-12 decision at home over Timber Tavern this past Monday.

John Richards fanned three batters in pitching the win as Riverview-Dar’s took early control with a 12-run barrage in the second inning before holding on a late charge. Patrick Thompson came on to record the save while MVp Joe Foster anchored the winning offense by going 4-4 with a triple, double and two runs scored. Thomas Cota and Terry Paige both had three hits, including a double, and came around to score three times.

For Timber Tavern, Jacob Keleher went 4-4 with a double and three runs scored. Derek Brown was 3-4 with a homerun and two runs scored and Justin Pearson was 2-3 with two runs scored.

In the other games of the night, Laughing Crow Winery outlasted Gandy Dancer 13-12 in eight innings, No Law Warriors blanked Casino 10-0, Norwood Legion outscored Parishville Amvets 20-19 and

Laughing Crow 13, Gandy Dancer 12 (8 innings): Brandon Marsh hit a solo homerun in the top of the eight after Gandy Dancer had rallied to tie the game with tow runs in the bottom of the seventh then pitched a scoreless inning to pick up the win.

MVP Ian McQuinn led the way offensively for Laughing Crow going 2-2 with a homerun. Matthew Bresett was 3-4 with three runs scored.

Ryan Prairie sparked the Gandy Dancer offense going 4-5 with a solo homerun in the seventh, a triple and four runs scored. Joe Rockhill was 3-4 with a homerun, double and two runs scored and Tim Harmer, who drove in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh with a single, went 3-4 with a homerun and two runs scored.

No Law Warriors 10, Casino 0: Mark Peets belted a three-run homerun in the first inning and MVP Jeb Euto hurled the shutout in his first outing from the circle of the season. He also went 1-3 while Peets was 2-2 with three runs scored and Michael Weller was 2-2 with a run scored.

For Casino, Jeffrey Laprade (double), Eddie Mason (double) and Eric Brabant all went 2-2.

Norwood Legion 20, Parishville Amvets 19: In a game that featured eight lead changes, Dakota Vallance scored in front of a sacrifice fly by Jason Gallant in the bottom of the seventh to lift Norwood Legion to the walk-off win. MVP Tyler Murray anchored the Legion offense going 4-4 with three homeruns and four runs scored. Matt Benware was 4-4 with a double and four runs scored and Nate Peck had three hits and scored three times.

For Amvets, Dennis Tebo, Jr. was 6-6 with a double and five runs scored. Jeff McGregor went 3-5 and scored three runs while Jeff B. was 4-6 with a double and four runs scored.
