CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MASSENA - Village police charged Evan D. Delosh, 27, of 60 Liberty Ave., Massena, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a hypodermic needle at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday after he was picked up on a warrant on Maple Street. The warrant, signed in December 2010, alleged Delosh had violated the terms of his probationary sentence for a criminal trespass conviction from Potsdam Town Court. Police said when they took Delosh in custody they found he had a needle drawn to hold suboxone in his pocket. He was arraigned on the misdemeanor charges by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond. Delosh told the court he had a prescription for suboxone and suggested a deal had been reached for him to be resentenced to 180 days in the county correctional facility for his conviction on the criminal trespass count.

FALSE INSTRUMENT - MASSENA - Village police charged Matthew L. Arel, 23, of 12 Somerset Ave., Massena, with filing a false instrument at 9:08 a.m. Monday. Police alleged Arel failed to note a prior arrest when he filed a pistol permit application.

BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Kyle A. Lamay, 29, of 237 East Hatfield St., Massena, on a bench warrant issued by St. Lawrence County Court at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday. Police said Lamay turned himself in on the warrant. Lamay was transported to Canton for arraignment on the warrant in county court.
