The Northern New York Activity Association will be hosting its first Educational Seminar on August 1, at the Ogdensburg Dobisky Center. The topics being offered are; The Electronic Age by Sarah Matthews, ADC; Hand Bells? In a Nursing Home? By Dawn Kimble, ADPC and Patience Boswell, Activity Leader; Art with Dementia by Linda Redhead, MS, ACC/EDU and Care Planning and Documentation by Kathy Hughes, ACC. The program will run from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and the cost per person is $65 for non-members, $60 for members, with Canadian Rates available too. Payment options are cash, check or credit card and you must sign up before July 28.
This conference will benefit anyone who works with elderly in any setting, such as, Intermediate Care Facilities, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, Adult Home, Swing Bed, Home Care, etc. The conference will also be holding a fundraiser that day with Books are Fun and Jewelry is Fun coming to sell their goods. The public is invited to come to the Dobisky Center from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. to browse their merchandise.
The Northern New York Activity Association is a group of Activity professionals that meet bi-monthly and share information, participate in an educational session and work together to bring awareness to how Activities can enhance the lives of the elderly.
