Little River, SC- Bernard Peter “Pete” Chatell, 85, formerly of Henrietta, NY, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his home in Little River, SC.

Born on June 5, 1929 in North Stockholm, NY, he was the son of the late Peter A. and Edna Hutchinson Chatell.

He served as Town Councilman for the Town of Henrietta for 9 years and was a Life Member of the Henrietta Fire District where he served for 28 years. He was also a member of the racing drill team the Ol’ Henries.

Mr. Chatell is survived by his children P. Matthew Chatell of Washington, DC, Maria Davis (Michael) of Loris, SC; sisters, Vera LaBarge of Massena, NY, Louise Pierce of Norwood, NY; grandchildren, Chris and Samantha Davis and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Mary Beverly McGregor-Chatell; wife of nine years, Dolores Feathers-Chatell and 2 sisters, Janet Curtis of Brasher Falls, NY and Olive Moulton of Madrid, NY.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 21 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel.
