NORTH ELBA — State police say a small plane has crashed near Lake Placid, killing all three people on board.
Troopers said the single-engine plane burst into flames on impact around 10:40 a.m. Saturday.
The plane crashed not far from the Lake Placid Airport. Firefighters extinguished the flames.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the plane was landing or taking off when the crash occurred.
Troopers said investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are en route to the site.
They said a coroner has arrived as well. The identities of the victims haven’t been released.
