Pair accused of taking, falsely returning items at Walmart


WATERTOWN — State police accused two people of multiple offenses connected to the alleged theft and return of items to the Walmart, Route 3, town of LeRay.

Police said Sonya A. Sparacino, 41, of 813 LeRay St. Apt. 1, took a hair iron worth $39.97 and a bag of coffee worth $8.97, and unsuccessfully attempted to return them.

They also accused Robert A. Snyder, 42, of 31084 Route 126, Carthage, of taking and returning $28.60 worth of charcoal, lighter fluid and bandages.

Police determined they were working together based on store video evidence.

Ms. Sparacino was charged with fifth-degree conspiracy, two counts of petit larceny and making a false business record at her residence at 10:08 p.m. Friday. Mr. Snyder was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy, petit larceny and making a false business record.

They were given appearance tickets for LeRay Town Court.
