Potsdam native and touring guitarist appearing at Half Tons on Thursday


POTSDAM - Potsdam native and world-class musician Phil Hurley will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at 1/2 Ton’s Sports Bar in Potsdam. He will host the evening and will share the stage with other talented musicians through the night.

Mr. Hurley is a founding member of the Boston-based band Gigolo Aunts. The Gigolo Aunts has modest radio success and their song, “Where I Find My Heaven,” was featured on the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack. The Gigolo Aunts toured with groups like The Cranberries, The Counting Crows and The WallFlowers.

After leaving the band in 1996, Mr. Hurley was a touring guitarist for Tracy Bonham in 1995 and has also toured with artists like Mile Hunt, Lisa Loeb and Foutains of Wayne.

His work can be found on the soundtrack of HBO’s “Lucky Louis,” Showtime’s “Weeds” and the syndicated “Greg Behrandt Show.” Today, Mr. Hurley is playing with The South Austin Moonlighters.
