Hermon - Frances E. Hamilton, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.
Calling hours are Saturday, July 26th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with a memorial service at 11:30 am at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with pastor Karen Taylor officiating and burial in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur. A luncheon will follow the memorial service at the Gouverneur VFW.
Frances was born on November 27, 1940 in Gouverneur, the daughter of Lloyd and Marion Ridsdale Hutt.
She married Raymond Hamilton on March 11, 1961 in Gouverneur.
Mr. Hamilton passed away November 1, 1993.
Frances was employed at the St. Lawrence County Sheriff Department for 20 years and the couple owned a farm on the Hill Road in Russell for 40 years. She served as a 4-H leader for 10 years, enjoyed working with work horses, riding horses, making maple syrup, gardening, traveling, and playing cards.
Frances is survived by a son Bob and Laurie Hamilton of Hermon, a daughter Diane McBroom of Newport, NH, 5 grandchildren Jennifer Hamilton, Joseph Hamilton, Kayla McBroom, Nicholas McBroom, Megan McBroom, and a great granddaughter Karissa Hamilton. She is also survived by a brother William Hutt of Seattle, WA, a sister Beverly and her husband George Finch of Theresa, several nieces and nephews. Frances is predeceased by her husband and parents.
