Mark Miller of Massena lofted a midday nine iron 3’ 6” from the cup to win top honors in the Oswegatchie Golf Challenge on Sunday.
Miller’s shot represented one of the best closest to the pin efforts in the history of the popular Seaway Festival event which is administered by the Ogdensburg Lions Club. The event was founded many years ago by Ronnie Driscoll and since then golfers have yet to record a hole-in-one playing tee shots from Trafalgar Park over the Oswegatchie River to a green along side the Maple City Trail.
On Sunday 135 participants tee it up and produced $923 for the Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival.
Miller won a $100 prize for overall honors and the first four finishers in the Men’s, Women’s and Youth Division received $50, $25, $15, $10.
