Breton LaRose allowed just two hits and struck out 10 pitching his first complete game of the summer as the Ogdensburg Maples downed the Norfolk Rovers 7-1 in 18-Under Baseball action on Thursday at Water Park Park.
LaRose limited the Rovers to a single by Mike Burns in the first inning an an RBI single by Isaiah Dilabaugh in the sixth inning. Lefty Arsenault hammered a two-run homerun in the sixth inning to cap an opportunistic Maples’ offense which exploited three dropped flyballs by the Rovers.
Jordan Miller singled and doubled for Ogdensburg and Andrew Cole lined two singles. Seth Pinkerton singled and scored twice, Bryant Wentworth singled and scored and DaKota Brady added a single.
Jake Vierno pitched a solid complete game for Norfolk.
The Maples the Rovers again tonight at Father Martin Field and host the Brockville Brockville Bunnies on Wednesday.
Both games will begin at 6 p.m.
