WATERTOWN — A Utica man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to a charge that he tried to possess cocaine with the intent to sell the drug in March.

Dymonick L. Smith, 22, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. He had been accused in a grand jury indictment handed up in June with possessing and selling cocaine twice on the same day in early March and again nine days later.

He is expected to be sentenced Sept. 24 to six months in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and five years’ probation.
