Enbridge-SL Gas, B&W Quick Stop net NNY Box Lax wins


BRASHER FALLS - Enbridge-St. Lawrence Gas turned back Massena Savings and Loan while B&W Quick Stop pulled away from Goodrich Refrigeration in the Northern New York Box Lacrosse High School Division games played at the Tri-Town Arena on Wednesday.

The Elementary Division game saw Stacey Howlett, DDS, beat Dow Electric 22-15 and the Adult Division contest saw the Whites outscore the Reds 22-16.

Nightly player of the game awards presented to players in the Elementary and High School division games are sponsored by Powerade.


All former St. Lawrence Central lacrosse players are reminded that this Sunday will be the annual Alumni Game at the varsity field starting at 1 p.m.

Players from odd graduating years will square off against players from even years. Players will receive a jersey with a number as part of their $20 donation which will benefit the SLC Youth Lacrosse program.

Enbridge-SL Gas 16, Massena S&L 13: Player of the game Brody Simonds anchored a balanced attack with a goal and assist in the winning effort. Austin Kennedy netted a pair of goals while Carter Bordeleau (2 assists) and Austin Stowell (1 assist) each broke through for solo tallies.

Kaleb Rathbun scored four goals as player of the game for Massena S&L. Zach Ward logged three goals and an assist while Ian Bresett notched a pair of goals.

B&W Quick Stop 20, Goodrich 6: Drew Rose earned player of the game honors in the winning effort after tallying five goals and two assists. Jake Sutton (2 assists) and Donivon Rogers (1 assist) generated four goals apiece while Lucas Beeson produced three goals and one helper as B&W Quick Stop remained unbeaten this summer.

Goaltenders Parker Hornung, who made 32 saves and handed out two assists over the course of the two games, and Trent Dow, who handled 35 shots and also recorded a pair of assists, shared player of the game status in the losing cause. Matt Burg handed out three assists and Skyler Burns finished with a pair of helpers.


Stacey Howlett, DDS, 22, Dow Electric 15: Player of the game Myles Beeson and Jimmy Sullivan broke through for five goals apiece in the win. Jack Pitts scored six times and Myles Bordeleau made 10 saves backstopping the win.

For Dow Electric, player of the game Kyle Rutley rattled off seven goals followed by Tanner Race with three and Gabe Hornung with one while Logan Premo turned aside nine of the shots he faced.


Whites 22, Reds 16: Cody Kilcoyne sparked the winning attack with five goals and an assist. Kevin Wells fashioned a hattrick while Kyle Phelix produced a goal and three assists. Andrew Fiske made 19 saves working the crease in the win.

Ian Helmer paced the Reds with five goals. Martin Fregoe (1 assist) and Cody Burns netted three goals each while Brian LaBier recorded 18 saves and two assists between the pipes.

Monday Games: Elementary Division - Stacey Howlett, DDS, vs. Dow Electric 5:30 p.m.; High School Division - Massena S&L vs. B&W Quick Stop 6:30 p.m., Goodrich vs. Enbriege-SL Gas 7:30 p.m.; Adult Division 8:30 p.m.
