Waite, 44, of Bangor with a felony count of third-degree criminal mischief Thursday following an investigation into a domestic dispute reported at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at 357 Russell Road in the town of Moira. Waite allegedly vandalized the victim’s vehicle by slicing the tires on the vehicle and dismantling several items inside the vehicle’s engine compartment. He then fled the scene in his 1992 Ford F-150.

Approximately one mile from the scene, troopers said Waite failed to stop at a stop sign and left the roadway in front of a residence at 160 County Route 17, Moira. After striking the residence’s landscaping, Waite fled the scene on foot. The state police K-9 responded to the scene but search efforts were unsuccessful.

Waite later turned himself in at SP Malone. He was charged with criminal mischief and reckless driving and ticketed for speed unreasonable and failure to stop for a stop sign.
