LAFARGEVILLE- Louise M. Hughes, 83, of Route 181 died Thursday July 31, 2014 at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.
Born July 10, 1931 in Philadelphia, NY, she was the daughter of Clifford and Ruth Reynolds House and attended LaFargeville Central School.
She married Edward E. Hughes on August 6, 1949 at St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church in LaFargeville. Mr. Hughes died April 10, 2011.
Mrs. Hughes was an Avon representative for 27 years and a member of the President’s Club.
An avid bowler, she was a member of the 600 Club, past member of the LaFargeville Fire Department Auxiliary, enjoyed decorating cakes, watching television, listening to country music, arranging flowers and gardening. She also had taken care of the Altar cloths at St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, LaFargeville.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Ray Lytle, LaFargeville and Cindy and Bill Reynolds, Theresa; three sisters and their husbands, Elizabeth George, Hannibal, Janet and Ted Leeson and Joyce and Glenn Beerman, Jr., all of LaFargeville; 4 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
A brother in law, Lewis George died before her.
The funeral will be 3 pm Monday, August 4, 2014 at Frederick Bros. Funeral, Inc., Theresa with Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Grove Cemetery, LaFargeville.
Calling hours will be 1 pm to 3 pm prior to the funeral.
