Robert J. Fisk, 81, 11996 Southeast 84th Terrace, Belleview, FL died at the family cottage on Flanders Rd., Point Peninsula, NY under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and his family.
Mr. Fisk was born June 11, 1933 in the family home at 825 Coffeen St. Watertown, the son of James Grant, Sr. and Alma Williams Fisk. Mr. Fisk graduated from Watertown High School in 1951 and joined the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He married Kathleen Kelly, on April 1, 1960, by Justice of the Peace, Alan S. Gardner, a personal friend of Mr. Fisk. They renewed their vows July 27, 2014, at the Samaritan Medical Center Chapel with Reverend Walter Giles. Mr. Fisk had a Watertown Daily Times paper route as a teenager and Walter Giles was his substitute, they became great friends.
Mr. Fisk worked, while in school, at Cliff Cooper Service on Coffeen Street. After a tour of duty in the United States Army, Mr. Fisk owned and operated the Sunoco Service Station on LeRay Street followed by the Texaco Station on Eastern Blvd. He also worked for the Jefferson County Highway Department, JeffCo Oil Company and was in Equipment Management at the NYSDOT, retiring in 1995. Mr. Fisk also was a part time school bus driver for the Freeman Bus Company.
Mr. Fisk was a life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion, both in FL., a member of CSEA and RPEA. He coached the Pepsi Little League Team while his daughter played in the late 1970’s. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed time in the Adirondacks and travel in retirement. He was an avid reader, completed numerous word puzzles and loved keeping a neat and trim yard. Surviving besides his wife of 54 years, are a daughter and son in-law; Susan and Bill Dralle, Clifton Park, NY. Three brothers; James Grant Jr., H. George and Richard T., and two sisters; Betty Goodlander and Sally Halmerci died before him.
