Watertown- The graveside service with military honors for George C. Kennick, Jr. will be 11:00am Thursday, August 7th, 2014 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont. The family will receive friends prior to the burial at 10:00am at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

Mr. Kennick passed away Saturday, August 2nd at the Samaritan Keep Home where he had been a resident since 1999. He was 82 years old.

Born in Watertown on June 29, 1932, George was a son to George C. and Helen E. Gilbo Kennick. After his high school graduation George enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1952-1954. Following an honorable discharge he worked for many years in Virginia as a laborer.

George is survived by a son: Barry Kennick, VA; a daughter: Carol Fradkin, VA; a brother and sister-in-law: Clarence (Ernestine) Beauchamp, SC; as well as many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

George is pre-deceased by a daughter: Sharon O’Brien, and a sister: Margaret Hubbard.

George will be remembered as an avid fisherman.
