Buster’s Sports Bar, Howies advance to Women’s Softball Final Four


Buster’s Sports Bar, looking to make another run to the Ogdensburg Women’s Softball Championship game, earned an 11-9 decision over Nig’s Tavern on Monday evening at Champlain Street field.

Buster’s scored twice in the top of the seventh inning sparked by a double from Barb Miller. Miller had two doubles and a single leading Buster’s into the final four. Jamie Burwell supplied three singles while Jessica Measheaw added a triple, Ashley Baker stroked two singles and Erica Bedford lined two singles. Gayle Gollinger, Kareen Bedford, Brittany Young, Kari Lovely, and Leighanne Mullaney each singled.

Liza LaRock supplied a triple and three singles for Nig’s Tavern while Lori LaRue stroked three singles. Brittany Kenyon, Kristie Farrell and Austie Claxton each added a double and a single while Nicki Sharpe and Deb Knapp each singled twice. Angie Caufield and Stacie Kenny each singled.

In other action Howie’s received a forfeit from Ghize’s


Wednesday: The Place vs Hosmer’s at Champlain, Howie’s vs. Buster’s at Monnet.

Monday: Loser of Hosmers vs. The Place vs. Winner of Buster’s and Howies. (Champlain).

Wednesday: Championship Game.
