Three residents of Potsdam area charged with possessing heroin, crack cocaine following traffic stop in Essex County

NORTH ELBA - New York State Police arrested the following three St. Lawrence County residents for drug possession following a traffic stop at approximately 5:49 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 86 in the town of North Elba.

Troopers charged Gerald L. Dissottle Jr., 23, of Norwood with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, false personation, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana. Dissottle, a passenger in the vehicle, was found in possession of 500 bags of heroin, troopers said.

He was arraigned in the town of North Elba Court and sent to the Essex County Jail with bail set at $30,000 cash or $60,000 bond.

Troopers charged Allen J. Oshier, 31, of Canton and Jordan G. Thomas, 24, of Potsdam with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Thomas, the operator of the vehicle, was additionally ticketed for moving from lane unsafely and obstructed license plate.

Oshier and Thomas were also arraigned in the town of North Elba Court and sent to Essex County Jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. The trio are scheduled to reappear at the Monday in town of North Elba Court.

Troopers said the trio were found in possession of .6 grams of crack-cocaine, 7.1 grams of marijuana and a digital scale.
