Chamber to host meet the candidates night for Jefferson County Sheriff’s race

The Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce will host a “Meet the Candidates for Jefferson County Sheriff” night from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 26 in the auditorium of the Dulles State Office Building, 317 Washington St., Watertown.

All three candidates in the race have agreed to participate.

Jefferson County Undersheriff Paul W. Trudeau and Colleen M. O’Neill, a LaFargeville resident and retired state trooper, are running as Democrats.

John R. Bocciolatt, a Watertown native and retired detective sergeant with the Portland, Ore., Police Bureau, is running as a Republican and Conservative Party candidate.

According to a news release, the event will not be a debate but rather a “forum.” Each candidate will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to those in attendance and each will be answering questions from the community.

Residents are asked to submit their questions to the Chamber through its website or by emailing

The event is open to the public and free of charge.
