Three more acts have been added to the Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Department’s free concert series this month at Library Park.

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Brad Byrd will perform on August 13 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Mr. Byrd has released 2 critically acclaimed full length albums, 2005’s “The Ever Changing Picture”, and 2011’s “Mental Photograph”. Various cuts off both releases have been featured on popular television shows such as ABC’s “Happy Ending’s” and FOX’s “Ben and Kate”. Through years of consistent touring, opening for acts such as Family of the Year, Mike Doughty, Gold Motel, Jurassic 5, Wakey Wakey, Barnaby Bright, JBM, Willy Mason, Reel Big Fish and many others worthy of note. Byrd’s sound and stylings are often compared to the likes of Pete Yorn, Ryan Adams, Beck, Joseph Arthur, and Kurt Vile.

Also joining the series is Allexa Hooper, a singer/songwriter from Ogdensburg, who will be taking the stage August 24 from 6 until 7 p.m. She has performed at numerous talent shows and festivals throughout New York State. She sang the National and Canadian Anthems at the 2013 Bassmasters Tournament on ESPN 2. She also performed at the New York State fair in Syracuse. Allexa recently performed at the 2nd annual Oswegatchie Delta Music Festival with national acts including Les Dudek. Allexa will be recording a demo in August and is planning to release a CD soon after.

On August 27 from 6 until 8 p.m., Jack Kelley Band will take the stage

Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the concert series. The bands and performers will be performing from the Library Park gazebo. No dogs or alcohol will be allowed at Library Park during the event.

The entire concert series is as follows:

August 13 – Singer/songwriter Brad Byrd from 6 until 7:30 p.m.

August 15 – DRAGNFLY, a powerful rock band from Upstate New York, which includes Abigail Powers on lead vocals, Tim Logan on guitar/backing vocals, John Walker on drums/backing vocals and Micah McDonald on bass/backing vocals will be taking the stage from 7 until 8:30 p.m.

August 22 – Lisbon native Jaynie Trudell will perform from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.

August 24 – Allexa Hooper from 6 until 7 p.m.

August 27 – Jack Kelley Band from 6 until 8 p.m.

August 29 - The Juggernaut Agenda will hit the gazebo from 7 until 8:30 p.m. The Juggernaut Agenda is your proverbial rock band whose members are T. Mourick, Greg Currier, Matt Wargo and Kevin O’Brien. All of The Juggernaut Agendas members are seasoned musicians from the North Country area and many may recognize them from other area bands they have been a part of over the years.
