A Carthage man is accused of hitting his father in the face and arm during a domestic dispute Monday.
Grant W. Spence, 19, of 311 Brown St., Carthage, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree harassment at about 12:23 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.
His father, Donald F., same address, told deputies that he got into an argument with his son after coming home to find all doors to the apartment locked and something burning on the stove Monday evening.
Grant Spence told deputies that he was “sick of his father” because he was not returning his phone calls to get tax information to receive financial assistance to go to college.
After striking and pushing his father, who was trying to gain access to the house through Grant’s bedroom window, he left the apartment to go fishing, deputies were told.
He is to appear in Carthage Village Court.
