Thousand Islands Park – George F. Albright, 89, died Monday morning at his home.
He was born March 29, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, son of Philip and Ethel Greenway Albright. He graduated from North High School in Syracuse. George served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He married Marian Snyder on December 22, 1945 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Syracuse. He worked for 34 years for the Syracuse City School District. The couple moved to T.I. Park to live year round, after retirement.
He was a member of the Wellesley Island Fire Department, the Crossroads Masonic Lodge, Syracuse, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, and the Alexandria Bay American Legion. He was avid golfer, decoy carver, hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, a son Rick and his wife, Kathy, of Skaneateles, NY, a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Sherry) Brown, Syracuse, and two grandchildren, Kyle and Kristin Albright. He was predeceased by a brother, Philip Albright.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 pm, at the Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. The funeral will follow at 4pm with Rev. Frederica Webb, officiating.
