Amber Alert Issued For Two Missing Amish Girls

HEUVELTON - An Amber Alert has been issued for two Amish girls allegedly abducted from a roadside stand on the Mt. Alone Road, between Ogdensburg and Heuvelton, in the town of Oswegatchie.

The girls are six-year-old Delila Miller, and 12-year-old Fannie Miller.

Delila is described as four feet tall, 50 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Distinguishing marks include a round scar on her forehead and missing front teeth.

Her sister Fannie is five feet tall, 90 pounds, brown hair and eyes. A distinguishing characteristic is being cross-eyed.

Both girls were wearing dark blue dresses, Amish style bonnets and blue aprons.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin Wells said the girls were abducted about 7:20 p.m. while they were standing near a roadside stand. Police are searching for a small, white, four-door sedan.

Mr. Wells said the parents of the girls said they last saw their daughters when they were waiting on customers. He said they reported turning around and seeing the girls were gone.

He said county, state and local police are aiding in the search. Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Lawrence County dispatch at 379-2222 or 911.
