POTSDAM — SUNY Potsdam has hired Nicole Yost, a native of Antes Fort, Pa., to be its new softball coach, replacing Shannon Dillabough, who coached the team the past 10 years. Yost, who will also work as an assistant sports information director, was an assistant coach the last two years at Misericordia University.

She was a hitting and fielding instructor, planned practices and clinics, directed fundraising and assisted with recruiting.

The Cougars went 16-22 during Yost’s first season, but improved to 25-17 last year.

Dillabough was Potsdam’s first full-time softball coach. Potsdam’s release did not say why he left.

Prior to her coaching career Yost was a three-year captain and four-year starter for Mansfield University.
