One charged in underage-drinking check in Watertown


WATERTOWN — State police in Watertown made one arrest after conducting an underage-drinking detail Friday evening at 14 convenience stores, gas stations and pharmacies in and around the city.

The businesses were checked regarding the sale of alcohol to minors. While being assisted by an undercover investigator, an underage volunteer attempted to purchase alcohol at the businesses.

Daniel F. Waldo, 39, Evans Mills, was charged by state police with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage at 7:30 p.m. Friday at a Nice N Easy store, 19853 Route 12F, town of Watertown. He is to appear in Hounsfield Town Court.

The following establishments were checked and did not sell to the underage individual: Stewart’s, 229 N. Massey St.; Stewart’s, 508 Mill St.; Stewart’s, 26253 Route 11; Stewart’s, 101 Brown Boulevard; Sunoco, 1255 Arsenal St.; Mobil, 1268 Arsenal St.; Walgreens, 929 Arsenal St.; Gold Star Deli, 343 Arsenal St.; Rite Aid, 1222 Arsenal St.; Valero, 262 Arsenal St.; Nice N Easy, 430 Factory St., Bear World, 22093 Route 11, and Kinney Drugs, 22056 Route 11.
