Local auto racing: Lanigan passes late McCreadie to win


WINCHESTER, Va. — Watertown’s Tim McCreadie led most of the way, but could not hold off series points leader Darrell Lanigan in Saturday’s Gunter’s Honey 50 World of Outlaws late model race at Winchester Speedway.

Lanigan slipped by McCreadie on lap 44 and help on after a caution three laps later. It was Lanigan’s 12th win of the season.

Watertown’s Tim Fuller ended up 14th.

■ JR Mooney passed Jason Dinzler on a late restart to win in the super stock division Sunday at Adirondack International Speedway in New Bremen. Other winners were Matt McLane (thunder stock), Shaun Shaw (trucks), Vern LaFave (legends), Dylan Swiernik (sport compact) and Jonathon Murphy (junior).

■ Saturday night’s racing card at Evans Mills Speedway was postponed due to rain. Racing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.
