The Camp Laurent Advisory Committee announces the second annual “Art on the River Festival” on Saturday. The festival will host a variety of local artisans, crafters, and vendors displaying their work and crafts.

As part of the “Art on the River Festival,” Ms. Jaynie Trudell, songwriter and recording artist will perform. Ms. Trudell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and formally of Lisbon, will entertain festival goers beginning at noon. Local guest musicians will entertain along with Ms. Trudell. Guests Pete and Virgil Trudell, pat Duffy, Christ Bresett, Scott Fleegle, Greg Hodgson, Kirk Ramsay, Lori and Susie and others will be stopping by in the afternoon.

For the younger festival goers, there will be a bouncy house and Obstacle Course, donated by Seaway Valley Jumpers, balloons, games and other surprises.

The committee will serve a chicken barbecue. The full meal consists of a half BBQ chicken, salt potatoes, corn on the cob, coleslaw, roll, dessert, and beverage. A child’s meal, a half of a chicken only and takeout will be available.

For a fun-filled day on the river, plan on joining us on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. The chicken barbecue will start at 11 a.m. and be served until gone. The donation at the gate will be $1 for the artisans and crafters displays and music entertainment, $2 for children’s all day entertainment and $9 for the Chicken barbecue full meal.

The proceeds will benefit the Camp Laurent Maintenance Fund. Camp Laurent is a Chirstian Camp steeped in history beginning in the early 1900s. It is currently owned and operated by the First Congregational United Church of Christ (the white church) of Lisbon. It is available for use by the community for a low-cost maintenance fee.
