CANTON - With an extraordinary turnout at TAUNY on Main St. in Canton, the launch event announcing the premiere weekend for the St. Lawrence International Film Festival was a tremendous success.
We couldn’t have asked for a more enthusiastic response to an event that promises increased tourism, trade, cultural exchange and community engagement come Fall 2015.
The launch event was sponsored by local businesses Glow Skincare and Spa (www.glowspa.org), TAUNY (www.tauny.org) and St. Lawrence Brewing Co. (www.stlawrencebrewing.com).
Regional farm cooperative Cabot Cheese (www.cabotcheese.coop) also sponsored the event.
What’s Next? Startup Funding - An event of this caliber requires significant operational expenses to begin the process of building our digital presence, marketing, programming and planning logistics for our Fall 2015 premiere weekend; Staffing - While a team of festival professionals is hard at work preparing for our big event, several more need to be scouted, hired and trained to run with the ball.
Once our operating budget is met, dollars will turn into people who can make our vision a reality; Sponsorship Development - Key to the Festival’s success is a wide variety of sponsors supporting our efforts. Conversations have already begun with enthusiastic businesses operating within and around the North Country who wish to align their brands with the Festival’s mission.
