To the Editor:
I am writing to regretfully inform the Heuvelton Central School Community that effective Wednesday, August 27 I will be resigning from my seat on the Board of Education. My family and I have moved out of the district therefore I will be unable to finish out the term to which I was elected. This move was unforeseeable at the time I ran for the board. It is still hard for me to imagine living anywhere other than Heuvelton or my children be anything other than “Bulldogs”.
I wish to thank everyone who elected me to the BOE and to all those who I have worked with over the past year. I leave a BOE of top notch individuals who are cognizant of the community’s concerns, who are smart with the tax payers’ money, who fight to ensure students and teachers receive the resources they need, and who have a low tolerance for anything but the best for our students.
I will greatly miss my time on the BOE. I learned a great deal and found it to be a meaningful use of my time. I encourage anyone who has the skills, knowledge, and/or passion that would benefit the district to run for the BOE.
Again I thank everyone and leave you with the words of Abraham Lincoln: “He has the right to criticize who has the heart to help.”
