SYRACUSE — Long-time Central New York men’s basketball rivals Syracuse and Cornell will meet at the Carrier Dome on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Cornell is the second most familiar foe in SU hoop history. The teams have met 119 times previously and the Orange own an 88-31 advantage. The series opened in 1900-01 and the Big Red won eight of the first 11meetings. Syracuse has won the 34 most recent matchups, including an 82-60 win in the 2013-14 season opener.

Cornell was 2-26 overall and 1-13 in the Ivy League a season ago. Coach Bill Courtney enters his fifth season at the Big Red helm.
